Mrs. Laura Allen (English and Language Arts)

I attended Western Carolina University from 2003 to 2007 and received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in English Literature. In 2015 I received my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Western Governor’s University.

I married my college sweetheart in 2007 and my daughter Hannah was born in 2011. Then in 2015, my two nephews Johnathan and Caleb joined our family. We also foster for the Haywood County Department of Social Services and currently have a 3 year old foster child.

I have taught at Fairview School for the last 8 years and I love my job. When I am not at school you will find me going to the movies, swimming, eating out, and spending time with my family.

Mr. Erik Wilson (Science)

I am originally from Colorado and  graduated from Fort Hays State in Kansas, in 2000 with an emphasis in education. I am currently teaching 7th grade science. I moved to the Sylva area 13 years ago and have been involved at Fairview for the last 10 years. I have volunteered, substituted, and have been a tutor. I am currently attending classes at Eastern Carolina University to finalize my lateral entry position. I have two Eagles (children) that I love spending time with. I coach youth sports nearly year round.

Mrs. Corina Gribble (CTE)

I graduated from WCU with a BSBA and worked in business, finance, and marketing fields. I am now certified to teach business, finance, and IT in the CTE program (Career & Technical Education). I enjoy teaching practical computer skills and applications that students can use in high school, college, and the work force. I am from Sylva and my husband and I have three sons, all of whom attend or attended Fairview; and I too am an Eagle! When I am not at school, you will find me outdoors, most likely at a sporting event or just outside having fun. My dream would be to live in a warm, tropical place with no bugs or snakes!

Mrs. Rebecca Farmer (Social Studies and Reading)

Hello! My Name is Rebecca Farmer, and I am thrilled to say this is my 20th year teaching middle school Social Studies. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Sciences with a minor in History from Gardner Webb University in 1999. In 2011 I earned my Masters in Administration and Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. I started my teaching career in 1999 in Lenoir, NC teaching Social Studies and Language Arts to eighth graders. In 2006, I moved to Sylva, NC with my family to be closer to my husband’s family since we had two small children at the time. I have worked at Fairview school teaching Social Studies to both 7th and 8th grade students since 2006. My own children are mustangs now but you know what they say “once an eagle always an eagle.” I love teaching and love social studies! In my spare time I love to travel and spend time with my family.
